Türkoğlu Ranks Third in BTA Balkans Athlete Survey

NBA forward Hidayet Türkoğlu placed third in the "Ten Best Athletes in the Balkans" poll for 2010, with results published in December of that year.

Bulgaria's official state news agency, BTA, organized the survey. Votes came from seven news agencies across the Balkan region, including Türkiye's Anadolu Agency.

Türkoğlu was playing for the Orlando Magic at the time. Türkiye placed three athletes in the top ten: alongside Türkoğlu, weightlifter Nurcan Taylan finished sixth and distance runner Elvan Abeylegesse placed ninth.

Bulgarian female wrestler Stanka Zlateva won the top spot on the list. Serbia's Novak Djokovic finished in second place.
