The Armenian American community has launched a pressure campaign against NBA superstar Kobe Bryant to break his agreement with Turkish Airlines.
Armenians living in the US primarily in Los Angles have shown a fierce reaction against Kobe’s 2 year deal with Turkish Airlines.
Armenian Youth Federation urged Bryant, a Los Angles Lakers player, to drop his business deal with Turkish Airlines. Armenian Youth Federation also called Kobe “to denounce alleged massacre of Armenians” by Ottomans.
“Earlier this week Kobe signed a two-year agreement with Turkey’s national airline carrier to serve as its “global ambassador,” effectively becoming the face and image of the company and its manager, the Turkish Republic, “Armenian Youth Federation said on their website http://www.ayf.org/
“Kobe’s decision has caused uproar within the Armenian-American community in the United States and especially within Southern California, which boasts the largest population of Armenians outside of Armenia, ranging between 600,000 to 750,000,” they added.
