Micoud fined for head-butting team-mate

BERLIN, Jan 16 (AFP) - Werder Bremen have fined French international midfielder Johan Micoud for head-butting team-mate Fabian Ernst during a training session in Turkey.
German international Ernst verbally abused Micoud who turned and head-butted him causing an injury above his right eye which required eight stitches, the German champions coach Klaus Allofs said.
Micoud had since apologised for his actions and Allofs said that both players had been fined undisclosed sums of money.
Werder undertook a short tour of Turkey during the winter break in the Bundesliga with them trailing leaders Bayern Munich by six points.
