US marine killed in action south of Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Jan 15 (AFP) - A US marine was killed in action Saturday south of Baghdad, the US military said in a statement.
"A US Marine was killed in action January 15, while conducting security and stability operations in Babil Province," it said in a statement, without elaborating.
The latest death raises the toll to 1,357 soldiers killed in action since the US invasion of Iraq in March 2003.
