Iraqi Citizens Living In Turkey Can Cast Votes In Ankara And Istanbul

ANKARA (AA) - Iraqi citizens living in Turkey can cast their votes for parliamentary election in Iraq to be held on January 30th in Turkish capital of Ankara and metropolis of Istanbul, authorities said on Wednesday.
     Recalling that an agreement was signed between Turkey and Iraq to enable Iraqi people living in Turkey to cast their votes for the Iraqi parliamentary elections, authorities said that Turkish Foreign Ministry and International Organization for Migration (IOM) had launched initiatives after the agreement was signed.
     According to this initiatives, Iraqi citizens who are 18 years old and who have legal residence permit in Turkey, can register their names between January 17th and 23rd in order to vote in the Iraqi elections. These people can cast their votes in Anittepe High School in Ankara and Oruc Gazi High School and Istanbul Elementary School in Istanbul between January 28th and 30th.
     Noting that the definite number of Iraqi people living in Turkey was not known, the authorities predicted this number between 10,000 and 30,000.
