ANKARA (AA) - Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to Viktor Yushchenko who was elected as Ukrainian President.
Sezer in his message said, ''I congratulate your victory on behalf of my nation and myself.''
''I believe that your calls to the international society and constructive characteristic of your sublime personality contributed to overcome the tense atmosphere, within the framework of democratic rules, during elections,'' Sezer noted in the message.
''Turkey is for the preservation of internal peace and tranquility of Ukraine which is an important country as regards the stability and security of Europe and the region,'' Sezer emphasized.
Sezer said, ''I believe that improving relations between Turkey and Ukraine will be further deepened during your presidency.''
