ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul met on Monday the U.S. delegation headed by Republican senator Jon Kyl.
Kyl is also acting as the Chairman of the Terrorism, Technology & Homeland Security Subcommittee of the U.S. Senate.
Replying to questions of reporters after the meeting, Kyl said they discussed ways to bring together Palestinian and Israeli people, stating that Turkey was ready to contribute to this process. Kyl said there was an opportunity for the parties in the region to start a new negotiation process on the way to a lasting peace.
Kyl said they also discussed the situation in Iraq, stressing that they had the opportunity to review constructive relations between Turkey and U.S. rooted in history.
