ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul sent a congratulation message on Monday to Mahmoud Abbas who was elected to the high office of the Presidency of the Palestinian National Authority.
Gul said, ''I believe that your election as President is not only a manifestation of your people's confidence in Your Excellency, but also a clear proof of their commitment to and desire for the peace in the Middle East based on the vision of two states, Palestine and Israel, living peacefully, side by side.''
''I am fully convinced that your vast experience and able leadership will greatly contribute to the realization a much desired peace and stability in our region,'' he noted.
