UNESCO, United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization, warned Israel regarding to archeological excavations near Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City.

UNESCO Executive Board approved 5 bills on the protection of cultural heritage sites and on the condition of educational and cultural institutions in Palestine and in the occupied lands.

The decision criticized Israel's acts as being destructive towards the religious, cultural and demographic structure in the east Jerusalem.

The Board said also that Israel violated the international law by listing Bishops Tombs, Halil Ibrahim Mosque and Tomb of Rachel in Bethlehem as well as Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque into their own national heritage.

UNESCO Executive Board also expressed its worries over the Israeli blockade on Gaza.

Observers said that UNESCO has issued its most comprehensive decision on Palestine in decades.
