ANKARA (AA) - Turkey has set its target of exports for the year 2005 as 75 billion U.S. dollars, and prepared a road map to reach its target.
Sources told the A.A on Sunday that Turkey would continue improving its economic and commercial relations with neighboring and African countries in 2005.
Under the road map, Turkey will start implementing a new strategy to improve its economic and commercial relations with Asia-Pacific countries. Also, Turkey will put into force its Action Plans to enter the markets of the People's Republic of China and India.
In 2005, Turkey will take part in 164 international fairs under its activities of promotion, marketing and development of exports.
The Turquality Project will be promoted in French capital of Paris, British capital of London and Spanish capital Madrid.
The concept of ''Turquality'' was developed by the Foreign Trade Undersecretariat to describe high quality Turkish products for the purpose of improving the image of Turkish goods in international markets and of making them well-placed.
The objective of the ''Turquality'' procedure enforced in March 2000 is to have companies, which do not compromise quality and which have made a place for themselves in foreign markets, use this right and strengthen the country image next to product image.
Under the project, preparations are underway to open ''Turquality'' stores in major fashion centers of Paris, London and New York where quality and branded products will be exhibited and sold, concentrating the first step on the textile and apparel sector that constitutes 40 percent of exports.
