Kadhafi: Bush's policies would be acceptable but for Iraq

ATHENS, Jan 11 (AFP) - Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi said he could accept the policies of US President George W. Bush but for the "Iraqi disaster", in an interview with Greek television broadcast Tuesday.
"If the catastrophe-disaster in Iraq had not occurred, we could say that he (Bush) is a man with acceptable policies," Kadhafi told the private Star channel.
He also condemned British Prime Minister Tony Blair for "finding himself mixed up in Iraq."
"Otherwise, I would like him a lot," as "he is leftist, optimistic and dynamic," said the Libyan leader.
Kadhafi said he had also warmed to French President Jacques Chirac, who visited Tripoli in November. "I have changed my opinion (of him) after our meeting, I found him very good, courteous, modest, cooperative, I liked him a lot."
The Libyan leader was interviewed by Dimitra "Mimi" Liani-Papandreou, the widow of Greek former prime minister Andreas Papandreou. The two men had close relations in the 1980s.
