LATAKIA - Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said that Turkey and Syria established a joint company to explore oil in seven different areas in Syria.
Yildiz, who is currently in the Syrian port city of Latakia to attend the second meeting of the High-level Strategic Cooperation Council, said that a decree about establishment of a joint company between Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) and Syrian National Petroleum Corporation came into force on after being published in the Official Gazette.
"Oil exploration works will begin after formation of the executive board of the joint company," he said.
