LOS ANGELES, Jan 9 (AFP) - The People's Choice Award for Favorite Leading Lady was granted Sunday to actress Renee Zellweger, in the group's first fully web-based vote.
Entertainers from television and film were nominted in 14 categories.
Zellweger, known for her Bridget Jones films, was selected over nominees Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Garner, Natalie Portman and Kate Winslet.
"That's a litle overwhelming," a tearful said Zellweger, who played a leading role in "Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason."
"I'll just say thanks. I feel just so lucky and so grateul."
Jason Alexander, known for his portrayal of George Costanza on "Seinfeld," and Malcolm-Jamal Warner, one of Bill Cosby's television sons on "The Cosby Show," emceed the program from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
