West Nile Fever Claims 3 Lives In Turkey

West Nile Fever claimed three lives in Turkey, health ministry official said on Wednesday.
Mustafa Ertek, chairman of Refik Saydam Hygiene Center of Health Ministry, said that seven people from five provinces were diagnosed with West Nile Fever in Turkey and three of them died.
Ertek said that severe symptoms included headache, vomiting and disorientation.
Hospitalization was not required for most of patients, he said.
West Nile Virus is usually transmitted by infected mosquitoes or blood transfusions.
Severe symptoms can include high fever, headache, neck stiffness, stupor, disorientation, coma, tremors, convulsions, muscle weakness, vision loss, numbness and paralysis.
