ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TUSIAD) International Chairman Aldo Kaslowski has stated that Turkey must fight against unregistered economy in order to attract foreign investors.
In an exclusive interview with the A.A, Kaslowski stressed that an increase in employment would only be possible with an increase in investments. ''Aside from the fight against unregistered economy, correct investment incentives must go into effect,'' said Kaslowski.
''Turkey is a very rich country. However, due to its unregistered economy, Turkey is not a global player yet.''
According to Kaslowski, the Turkish market continues to impress foreigners, including Italians. ''The Italian investors are interested in doing business with such strategic countries as Russia, China, India, Brasil and, of course, Turkey,'' told Kaslowski. ''Turkey may be the smallest market within these countries, yet it is the closest market to Europe. Thus, Turkey is very attractive for Italian entrepreneurs.''
Kaslowski added that the tax base in Turkey must be more just and regional. ''Unless regional adjustments are made, Turkey will be deprived of its tax potential,'' remarked Kaslowski. ''Without a fair tax system, growth and a possible rise in employment would be postponed.''
