Babacan: We May Not Need A New Stand-by Deal With I.M.F. After 2007

ANKARA (AA) - State Minister Ali Babacan said, ''debts of Turkey abated. Thus, we may not need a new stand-by deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) after 2007.''
     Babacan evaluated developments in Turkish economy and relations with IMF at Parliamentary group meeting of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) on Tuesday.
     Babacan noted that Turkey's debts to IMF were paid thanks to positive developments in economy and decreased to 20 billion U.S. dollars.
     ''We did not make concessions from financial discipline. If this milieu continues, we may not need a new Stand-by deal with IMF in 2007,'' added Babacan.
