ANKARA (AA) - The number of Turkish citizens, from whom nothing has been heard of since the quake and tsunami disaster in southern Asia, dropped to 18, sources at the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
Turkish diplomatic sources said that no news had been heard from 12 Turkish citizens in Thailand, three in Sri Lanka, two in Malaysia and one in India.
The tsunami waves triggered by an 8.9 magnitude underwater earthquake hit southern Asia on December 26th, 2004 killing about 150,000 people in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Bangladesh.
