HAKKARI (AA) - Turkish police seized 209 kilograms of heroin and hashish in southeastern city of Hakkari in the last five months, thanks to two sniffer dogs brought from Germany to prevent illicit drug trafficking.
Two sniffer dogs, which were sent to Hakkari after being trained in a dog training center in Turkish capital of Ankara for three months, helped security forces in Hakkari confiscate 209 kilograms of heroin and hashish in five months.
Hakkari Police Chief Yasar Agdere said that thus, the number of sniffer dogs they used in drug operations increased to four, adding that drug trafficking had decreased in their city thanks to these well-trained dogs.
