Turkey's President Abdullah Gul received Saleh al-Mutlaq, the leader of Iraqi Front for National Dialogue, in Istanbul on Monday.
The meeting was closed to press.
Earlier in the day, al-Mutlaq also held a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
