ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul left on Monday for Israel, the first leg of his tour to Israel, Palestine and Jordan.
     Earlier in the day, Gul told reporters that he would visit the Turkish Consulate General and the Turkish Culture Center in Jerusalem.
     Gul said that he would also visit Turkish officers and policemen in Hebron.
     Gul is scheduled to meet Israeli President Moshe Katzav, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom and Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, and Shimon Peres, the leader of the Workers' Party who is expected to act in the new government as the deputy prime minister.
     He will proceed to Palestine on January 5th, and to Jordan on January 6th.
