Tuzmen: Exports From Turkey Increased 33.7 Percent In 2004

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Monday, ''exports from Turkey broke a new record, and increased 33.7 percent to 64 billion U.S. dollars in 2004.''
     Holding a news conference together with Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) Chairman Oguz Satici and Foreign Trade Undersecretary Tuncer Kayalar, Tuzmen said, ''exports from the agriculture sector rose 24.7 percent to 7.5 billion U.S. dollars, exports from industry sector climbed 34.8 percent to 55.2 billion U.S. dollars, and exports from mining sector increased 42.5 percent to 1.1 billion U.S. dollars.''
     ''Turkey was the 26th biggest exporter country of the world in 2003. I believe that Turkey will climb to the higher ranks in the list of exporter countries in the coming years,'' Tuzmen added.
