ANKARA (AA) - The High Tribunal will start to try Husamettin Ozkan, former state minister and deputy prime minister, and Recep Onal, former state minister, on February 8th, 2005, Constitutional Court Deputy Chairman Hasim Kilic said on Wednesday.
Kilic told reporters that the files regarding Ozkan's and Onal's cases are now completed and added that the trial would begin on February 8th, 2005.
Parliamentary Investigation Commission's report, which will be considered as an indictment during the trial, will be sent to Ozkan and Onal before that date.
Ozkan and Onal are accused of causing Turkiye Halk Bankasi to lose money by abusing their powers.
The two politicians could face up to three years in prison if convicted.
