IZMIR (AA) - Muhammad Riaz, the Pakistani Consul General in Istanbul, Wednesday called on Turkish businessmen to invest in his country.
Visiting Ekrem Demirtas, the Chairman of Executive Board of Izmir Chamber of Commerce (IZTO), Riaz invited businessmen of Aegean city of Izmir to attend EXPO 2005 Fair to be held in Karachi between February 2nd and 5th.
Riaz said that Turkish textile, ready-made clothing and construction companies had opened offices in Pakistan to invest in this country, adding, ''as quotas are lifted, many advantages will emerge.''
Noting that Pakistan could provide Turkish textile industry with raw materials, Riaz stated that Turkey would process those raw materials and push them into world markets.
On the other hand Ekrem Demirtas said that IZTO members could invest in areas such as furniture, auto spare parts and durables.
