ANKARA (AA) - Exports from Turkey increased 31.8 percent to 56.2 billion U.S. dollars, and imports by Turkey rose 42.1 percent to 86.8 billion U.S. dollars in the January-November period of 2004.
The States Institute of Statistics (DIE) said on Thursday that foreign trade deficit climbed 65.9 percent from 18.4 billion U.S. dollars to 30.5 billion U.S. dollars, and the rate of exports meeting imports decreased from 69.8 percent to 64.8 percent.
In the same period last year, exports were 42.6 billion U.S. dollars and imports were 61.1 billion U.S. dollars.
Meanwhile, exports increased 37.3 percent to 5.4 billion U.S. dollars, and imports rose 60.4 percent to 8.4 billion U.S. dollars in November of 2004.
Foreign trade deficit climbed 132.3 percent from 1.2 billion U.S. dollars to 2.9 billion U.S. dollars, and the rate of exports meeting imports decreased from 75.7 percent to 64.8 percent.
