TEL AVIV - A Turkish plane took off from Israel to take to Turkey two wounded activists who were on board a ship raided by Israeli military.
An air ambulance left Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport Wednesday night after Turkey urged Israel to send back Turkish citizens on board the ships raided by Israeli commandos early Monday while they were on their way to Gaza carrying humanitarian aid.
Israeli raid on the convoy of ships with more than 600 people on board killed at least 9 people and injured 30 others. 4 of the dead were Turkish citizens.
Two Turkish military airplanes and three passenger planes are still waiting at the Ben Gurion Airport to carry some 570 activists to Turkey.
Turkish planes are expected to take off following boarding procedures.
Earlier in the day, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said wounded people would be taken to Ankara and bodies to Istanbul.
