BRASILIA - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that Iran has been fulfilling what has been agreed by Turkey, Brazil and Iran.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Brazilian President Lula da Silva held a press conference in Brasilia after holding tete-a-tete meeting and chairing meetings between delegations of the two countries.
Turkey was a country playing the role of bridge between Europe and Asia and the two countries had friendly ties, Lula said.
Brazil was eager for a world free from nuclear weapons and there was need for a radical changes in the world, he said.
Replying to a question on nuclear swap deal signed by Turkey, Brazil and Iran, Lula said some considered that Iran was not in favor of dialogue and the country did not keep its promises. Lula said Turkey and Brazil wanted to explain the importance of sitting at the table and dialogue to Iranian government.
Lula da Silva said that Iran has been fulfilling what has been agreed by Turkey, Brazil and Iran, noting that the issue of sanctions against Iran could wait now.
International Atomic Energy Agency should read, examine and discuss the letter from Iran and there was need for a dialogue, he said.
Lula said he would like to thank Turkey's Prime Minister Erdogan for his cooperation and solidarity.
Erdogan said he appreciated Mr. Lula's efforts and leadership, adding that Brazilian people should be proud of their President Lula.
