ANKARA - Turkish State Minister Faruk Celik received Mahdi Mostafavi, chairperson of Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, in Ankara on Tuesday.
Celik said that relations between Turkey and Iran would make important contributions to global peace.
Celik noted that the Turkish government was exerting efforts for development of relations with neighboring countries as well as settlement of peace in the region.
Noting that Turkey's Religious Affairs Directorate was carrying out significant studies with friendly countries, Celik said that the directorate was cooperating with religious institutions and religious research institutes of those countries.
Mostafavi said that religious, political and cultural relations between Turkey and Iran were on the highest level, adding that the seventh year of Turkey-Iran cultural cooperation was being celebrated. He said that Iran made such a cooperation with very few countries.
Mostafavi noted that positive relations between Turkey and Iran would affect regional countries too.
