Turkey To Face Difficult Days In Agricultural Competition With E.U.

BERLIN (AA) - Turkey would face some difficult days in agricultural competition with the European Union (EU), Professor Cemal Talug, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Ankara University, said on Tuesday.
     Making a speech in a meeting held by Berlin-Brandenburg Turkish-German Businessmen's Association (TDU), Talug said, ''difficult days are ahead for Turkey as regards competition with the EU in the agricultural area. We need to make radical changes in agriculture, and Turkey has the potential to do it.''
     Talug stated that the biggest problem in agriculture in Turkey was lack of information, and noted that farmers should be well-informed.
     Touching on his meetings in Germany, Talug said that the Humboldt University proposed to form a communication network among Turkish Republics, Turkey and Germany regarding agriculture, and added that a project could be generated in coming days.
