ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Foreign Ministry said, ''several temporary security guards of the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad, who were going to Iraq from Turkey, were killed today in a terrorist attack in Mosul.''
The ministry released a statement on basis of the information by the Turkish Embassy in Baghdad on Friday and said, ''one of the Turkish security guards and one driver survived the attack and returned to Turkey's southern Habur border pass, and two other Turkish security guards reached Baghdad.''
''We are deeply sorry with the killing of our security guards in the terrorist attack. Our officials are investigating the incident and we are trying to get information from Iraq's interim government and local authorities. Our public will be informed on the developments,'' said the ministry.
One of the international news agencies earlier stated that three foreigners died in an attack of militants in Mosul and one of those foreigners could be Turkish citizen.
