BRUSSELS (AA) - UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said on Friday that he was closely following the developments about Cyprus.
     Annan held a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency, and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
     Annan told the press conference that he hoped the developments would bring the solution of the problem.
     Annan said that ''he has no plans to resume the talks for the moment. Once the parties are ready to move forward again, my good offices could be available.''
     Balkenende in his part said talks continued regarding the final statement of the EU Brussels summit.
     The Dutch Prime Minister said EU-UN relations were discussed in details, stressing that the two organizations would continue close cooperation decisively.
