In the second day of talks articles III, IV and V were ratified.

Amendment III

Amendment III, which stipulates freedom to travel abroad, was accepted with 337 votes in favor while 71 used no votes.

The proposal makes change in the 23rd article of the current constitution. According to the approved article; "the right of freedom to travel abroad can only be limited depending on a judicial decision on the grounds of criminal investigation or interrogation."

Amendment IV

The item, which made a change in the 41st article of the current Constitution, was approved with 336 votes in favor. The new regulation changes the former title "Protection of Family" as "Protection of Family and Children Rights" and adds a provision on protection of the children by state against all kinds of abuse.

69 deputies voted against the item while two abstained.

Amendment V

Amendment V, which leads the way for a person to become a member of more than one union at the same job branch, was accepted with 333 votes. There were 70 "no" votes.

Third day programme

Third day of talks has started in Turkish Grand National Assembly, where Amendments VI, VII and VIII will be discussed today.

Amendment VI stipulates collective agreement for civil servants, Amendment VII stipulates the lift of restrictions for strikes and lock-outs and Amendment VIII regards party closure cases.

Hot debates are likely to take place particularly on Amedment VIII.
