ISTANBUL - Turkey's TAV Airports Holding took over management of two airports in Macedonia as of Monday.
A statement by TAV Airports Holding said that it took over operation of the Alexander the Great Airport in Skopje and St Paul the Apostle International Airport in Ohrid as of March 1, 2010.
TAV will operate the two airports for next 20 years.
TAV, the leading airports operator in Turkey, was established in 1997, as a joint venture between Tepe and Akfen Groups following their successful bid for the Istanbul Ataturk Airport International Terminal Contract. Due to fast growth and new investment opportunities, TAV re-structured in 2006 and grouped its operation and construction services under "TAV Airports Holding" and "TAV Construction", and is now consistently continuing with new accomplishments.
