Dodramacy died at Hacettepe University Hospital where he was under treatment in intensive care unit.

Professor Dodramacy, who was founder of Higher Education Board (YÖK) and the leading Turkish university, Bilkent, died of multiple organ failure.

Dodramacy was born in Iraqi city Erbil in 1915.

He was the head of board of trustees of Bilkent University, head of Turkish-International Children's Health Center, head of UNICEF Turkey National Committee and was the International Pediatrics Institution Honorary Head.

Yhsan Dodramacy, who spoke French, German, English, Arabic and Persian, was married with three children.

Meanwhile, President Gül released a message regarding the dead of Dodramacy.

President Abdullah Gül mentioned that Professor Yhsan Dodramacy was a man with a life full of successes that were crowned with memorable services of him to his country.

Gül pointed out that Dodramacy's contributions in science, education, health, culture, arts, economics and promotion of Turkey as well as of Turkic world have been met with great appreciation.

Underlining that Dodramacy was a man of science who was a source of national pride and an exemplar citizen, Gül said, "We will always commemorate Dodramacy, who carried out significant duties both in home and within the scope of international institutions and was granted with numerous honorable prizes".

Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali _ahin recalled that Dodramacy was decorated with TGNA Honorary Award in 2007 and said that he will be remembered forever.

_ahin said in his message, "Besides being a great science man, deceased Dodramacy will always be remembered for the role he played in founding new universities in Turkey".

Chairman of Higher Education Board (YÖK) Yusuf Ziya Özcan said Yhsan Dodramacy was and will be a prominent figure for his productivity and hardworking to the generations to come.
