“Turkey’s guarantorship indispensable”

Greek Cypriot Administration House of Representatives agreed upon 1960 Guarantee and Alliance Agreements' unacceptability and ineffectiveness on February 19. As a counter decision to this move, Republican General Assembly members unanimously accepted that Turkey's active and effective guarantorship is indispensable for the solution in Wednesday's extraordinary meeting.

The decision said Turkey's active and effective guarantee is the vital and most preliminary element of a comprehensive solution agreement for the island, noting that she bolstered Turkish Cypriots with devotion until now and provided peace and security on the island.

Regarding Greek Cypriot's ruling as lacking good intention and tarnishing the meaning of solution talks, the decision also said it is not possible for Turkish Cypriots to tolerate this situation for years.
