During US House of Representatives' Foreign Committee session regarding budget demand, Clinton answered deputies' questions about Turkey.
The questions focused mostly on Iran, Cyprus and the reopening of Halki Seminary.
Hillary Clinton also touched up on Turkey's contributions for Kosovo, Mediterranean and Black Sea and added Turkey shares a very long border with debated Iran.
Noting that Turkey has powerful cultural and religious connections and commercial initiatives in the region, Clinton reminded that Turkey has the influence on Iranian decision-makers.
Noting that her government worked hard to win the backing of Turkey to a point to put pressure on Iran, Clinton reminded Prime Minister Erdodan's criticism of Israel's Gaza occupation because of humanitarian reasons.
Clinton claimed that the tension between Israel and Turkey diminished following Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak's visit to Ankara.
Regarding Cyprus, Clinton said US government runs a coordinated work with Turkey.
Furthermore, Clinton said they keep calling on Turkey to re-open Halki Seminary, as well as reminding further calls for the protection of property rights and guarantee of the patriarchate.
