President Abdullah Gül held his regular meeting with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chief of General Staff Ilker Basbug on February 25 in order to address latest developments on Turkey's agenda.
The meeting at Çankaya Palace lasted for three hours on Thursday as all eyes were on the outcome of the talks.
"Turkey's problems will be solved within the constitution," the President said through a written statement in the wake of the meeting.
"It was stressed that citizens can be sure that the problems on the agenda will be solved within the framework of the constitution and our laws during this process, President Gül added.
"Everyone must act responsibly to prevent harm to our institutions," the statement further emphasized.
Prime Minister Erdogan later said the meeting had gone "very well".
The meeting took place as prosecutors began questioning former chiefs of the air force and navy, along with a deputy head of the armed forces as well as several retired officers at an Istanbul courthouse based on the charges of planning a coup d'état to overthrow the democratically elected government.
