Two Israeli officers are reported to have been inflicted disciplinary punishments due to their orders of firing white phosphorus bombs in Gaza at a UN facility.
The news covered by daily Haaretz did not mention the essence of the punishments.
Until now the Israeli army has denied breaking the rules of engagement over the use of white phosphorus.
The officers were named in Israeli media reports as Gaza Division Commander Brig Gen Eyal Eisenberg and Givati Brigade Commander Col Ilan Malka.
United Nations' facilities for providing humanitarian aid to people in Gaza were targeted by Israeli military during its offense last year, which was mentioned in the Goldstone report of the United Nations Human Rights Council over war crimes in Gaza.
The report claimed Israel guilty for committing war crimes during its raid against civilians.
Several artillery shells were fired in violation of the rules of engagement prohibiting use of such artillery near populated areas," the report says.
A doctor at Gaza city's main hospital told the BBC he treated hundreds of Palestinians for phosphorus burns during the offensive.
