Turkey prepares for a busy economy agenda in the first week of 2010 as the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜYK) will publicly announce economic indicators for 2009 on Monday.

The statistics watchdog will release inflation figures for December and overall 2009. Uncustomarily, the official statement will be made at 10 am instead of the 5 pm of previous year.

Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek will also hold a press conference. The minister is expected to brief information on budgetary figures, new tax rates, code numbers and cash repatriation.

On the same day, State Minister Zafer Caglayan will announce exports indicators for 2009 and unveil the foreign trade strategy for 2010.
