German parliament extends peacekeeping mission in Bosnia

BERLIN- The German parliament, Bundestag, voted on Friday in favor of a one-year extension of the mission of German Army units in Bosnia and Herzegovina, working under the European peacekeeping mission, EUFOR Althea, at an estimated cost of 13 million euro.

EUROR Althea mission falls within the Dayton agreement signed in 1995, marking the end of war between Bosnia and Croatia.

According to the Bundestag`s decision, 900 German soldiers would engage in the aforementioned missions instead of the current 2,400.
