ROME - Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on Thursday afternoon left the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, where he spent four days after being hit in the face late last Sunday at the hands of mentally challenged individual.
Berlusconi hailed the dozens of supporters who had gathered since early morning outside the entrance to the hospital between crowd of cameras and journalists, Berlusconi have covered part of his face and his nose from the window of the car that picked him up in a convoy of escort vehicles and security to his palace, "Villa San Martino" in one of the suburbs of Milan.
Dr. Alberto Zangrillo said Berlusconi left today after suffering from the incident that prompted pain which delayed his departure, expected yesterday, adding that the Prime Minister would spend the full period of convalescence away from any public activity until the end of the year.
Berlusconi said in a statement distributed after his release from the hospital that there were two things that would remain in his memory, the lack of hatred and love of many Italians, it is both that would give strength and determination.
In a related press releases sources revealed that Berlusconi plans to travel in the coming days to Switzerland for a cosmetic surgery in Medica Hospital.
