BRUSSELS, Dec 8 (AFP) - Romanian Foreign Minister Mircea Geoana said Wednesday his country had completed its negotiations to join the European Union in 2007 with the closure of the last two chapters outstanding.
"The negotiations for joining the EU are closed," he told reporters. "Romania has finalized tonight the two remaining chapters," he added after the end of talks on the issues of justice and competitiveness.
The end of Romania`s EU accession talks is to be endorsed at the EU summit in Brussels December 16-17.
