DAMASCUS - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Tuesday called for the end of the Israeli occupation of the Arab lands including the occupied Syrian Golan and the halt of the occupation's crimes against the Palestinian people.

In a final statement following the conclusion of GCC Summit held in Kuwait, the Summit expressed support to the unity of the Arab ranks and the achievement of the Arab solidarity.

"Just and comprehensive peace is based on Israel's full withdrawal from the Arab lands occupied in 1967 in line with the international relevant resolutions," GCC Secretary General Abdul-Rahman al-Atyia said.

In this regard, the Summit welcomed the UN General Assembly and the Human Rights' Council approval of Goldstone report on Israel's dangerous violations of the international law and the human rights principles.

It underlined that the European Union's statement which rejects changing the borders of June 6, 1967 is a first step for the international community to assume its responsibilities and insist the Palestinian right in Jerusalem as its capital.
