EP Rapporteur Says Turkish Court'S Decision An Obstacle To Democratization

BRUSSELS - European Parliament's rapporteur said on Saturday that the Turkish Constitutional Court's decision to shut down Democratic Society Party (DTP) was an obstacle in front of democratization in Turkey.

A statement by EP's Turkey rapporteur Ria Oomen-Ruijten said that she felt deep sorrow over the decision of the top court of Turkey.

Oomen-Ruijten said all political parties and nongovernmental organizations should keep working for peaceful, stable and prosperous Turkey.
