Erdogan’s remarks on his visits to the US and Mexico

On his arrival in Turkey, Erdogan has extended his condolosonces to the families of mine workers who died after a methane explosion in Bursa.

Erdogan also evaluated the visits he paid to the US and Mexico at a pres conference he held at the Ankara Erdogan Airport.

Besides the bilateral relations, the Prime minister said that they took up many topics primarily the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Balkans as well as Caucasus and including energy supply security.

Stating that they discussed the process of model partnership with Obama, Erdogan told reporters that they exchanged views on the ways of strengthening and diversifying of Turkey-US ties.

Underlining that his visits to Mexico was one of the top level diplomatic visits, Erdogan said that several topics within the framework of bilateral relations have been discussed during the meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

Pointing out the importance of carrying out a foreign policy appropriate to Turkey, Erdogan mentioned that Turkey will be opening new embassies in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Prime Minister said further that they also held talks on an easier mutual visa regime with the Mexican President.
