If the draft law gets adopted, adjustments will be made in the general principles which will be applied in the Presidential elections.
According to the draft law, the President will be elected by the people for a period of 5 years. The president will have the right to serve for two consecutive terms.
Every Turkish citizen who is above forty, who has completed higher education and who is eligible to be a deputy can be elected President.
