The Constitutional Court of Turkey shut down Democratic Society Party on Friday night after 4 days long investigation of the case.

Constitutional Court President Hasim Kilic has announced that high-level officials of the party, including the leaders of the Party, Ahmet Türk and Aysel Tugluk have been banned from politics for 5 years.

Hasim Kilic said "Democratic Society Party has been shut down according to the related provisions of the Law on Political Parties for becoming the "hotbed of activities that are against the indivisable integrity of the nation and the state".
