A group of demonstrators including Democratic Society Party (DTP) deputies and mayors wanted to rally without permission in Diyarbakyr province. The group threw stones and firecrackers at the police when they were stopped. Police responded with pepper gas and pressure water.
Demonstrators hurled stones at the ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) building in Diyarbakyr and wounded a police officer on guard.
In Hakkari's _emdinli town, a group of demonstrators also attacked police with stones.
Similar incidents took place in Siirt, Batman, Mardin's Nusaybin town, _anlyurfa's Viran_ehir town and Adana and Istanbul.
4 people were wounded in the incidents while many demonstrators were detained.
Tradesmen responded to the rallies by not closing their stores in Siirt, Batman and Nusaybin while some citizens hung Turkish flags on the windows.
In the meantime, police arrested 10 people regarding Molotov cocktails and firecrackers found in the Democratic Society Party's (DTP) local office in Istanbul's Esenler district.
Police had found 42 Molotov cocktails, 32 firecrackers, metal boxes used in bomb-making and wooden and metal sticks.
