Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu made a strong warning saying that as Turkey we see that the developments are not good and we are going through a critical period.
Davutoglu expressed his concern that the minaret ban would gradually proceed to the mosque building and then to the right of worship that could trigger a cultural cold war in Europe and that trend must be stopped.
Davutoglu said that there are mosques- synagogues and churches together on several places in Turkey and even on some places the domes of these worship places are intermingled with each other. Referendum is like a two way sharp sword, if you do not know where to use it you may bring lawlessness while trying to bring a law and order and you do not present an inhumane thing for a referendum.
Davutoglu noted that commonsense must prevail. If everybody starts insulting Islam in Europe today the same things may start on other places. The current course is not good and as Turkey we are feeling that, Davutoglu said.
