President Abdullah Gül is paying an official visit to Jordan as honorary guest of the King Abdullah, where significant steps have been taken to boost and diversify bilateral relations in line with contributing to the Middle East peace process.
Following non-visa applications with Syria, Libya and Albania, Turkey and Jordan have lifted visa requirements reciprocally, paving the way for a vast geography to become available for visa-free vacations and business.
King Abdullah of Jordan welcomed President Gül at the Palace before proceeding to tete-a-tete talks and interdelegational meeting.
The agreements signed by Industry and Commerce Minister Nihat Ergün and state minister responsible for women and family Selma Aliye Kavaf comprise new regulations concerning free trade area and administrative assistance on customs measures.
Later President Gül addressed business people at Jordan-Turkey Business Council in the capital Amman, calling for undertaking further investments.
During his address to the Council, Gül touched upon the Middle East peace process underlying that "Palestinian issue is not only a matter of Palestinians but of all Muslims".
"The frictions in Jerusalem are not only a case of the Arabs. It is the case of all Muslims" Gül said. The President also emphasized that Israel should revise its policy.
President Gül and First Lady Hayrunnisa Gül started their 2nd day of visit in Jordan by visiting Turkish martyrdom in the city of Salt. The President inaugurated the museum which was founded in the complex of the martyrdom where Turkish soldiers lie in rest who died during the World War I fighting against British soldiers.
The President and the First Lady had a tour in the area and signed the private journal at the Turkish martyrdom. Later on they visited the tomb of Sahaba Ebu Ubeyde Bin Cerrah.
