TRNC PRESIDENT TALAT VISITS ANKARA
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus President Mehmet Ali Talat yesterday arrived in Ankara to hold talks concerning recent developments on Cyprus. Talat, accompanied by TRNC Foreign Minister Huseyin Ozgurgun, today will have a working dinner with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. FM DAVUTOGLU TO ATTEND OSCE MEETING
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will attend the two-day Organization for Security in Europe (OSCE) Ministerial Council meeting in Athens, Greece starting today. The council is the OSCE's central decision-making and governing body. TOPKAPI TO HOST IRANIAN CULTURE EXHIBIT
Millennia of Iranian history and civilization will be explored in depth in a new exhibit that opens today at Istanbul's Topkapi Palace. Titled "10,000 Years of Iran's Civilization and 2,000 Years of Joint Heritage," the collection will go on view in the palace's historic Imperial Stallions section. The Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture agency said in a statement that the show is part of a series of cultural activities as part of the Year of Turkish-Iranian Culture, under the auspices of the Culture and Tourism Ministry and Iran's Presidential Office. /Today's Zaman/
NEW YORK FESTIVAL SPOTLIGHTS SIX TURKISH MOVIES
Six recent feature films and one short film from Turkey, including Mehmet Bahadır Er and Maryna Gorbach's "Kara Kopekler Havlarken" (Black Dogs Barking), Reha Erdem's "Hayat Var" (My Only Sunshine) and Yesim Ustaoglu's "Pandora'nın Kutusu" (Pandora's Box), will be screened during the 11th New York Turkish Film Festival from Wednesday to Saturday.
